Our Cause

Feeling the Love is a fundraiser to help build “Hospice Halifax,” the first free-standing residential hospice in Nova Scotia. Currently, Halifax is the largest region in Canada without a residential hospice, which means Nova Scotians have limited choices when it comes to end of life care.

Hospice Halifax

Based in the community, residential hospice care is about living in comfort and dignity to the end of life. It supports the resident and their loved ones to have the highest possible quality of life for whatever time remains. We are committed to the establishment of free-standing residential hospice facilities within the Halifax Region and are working with community in order to build Nova Scotia’s first free standing hospice in 2017. We have secured 2 heritage houses on Francklyn Street which will be renovated and joined to create the first residential hospice in Nova Scotia.

The Event

Guaranteed to be the most exclusive dinner and dance party in the city this Valentine’s Day weekend, Hospice Halifax wants YOU to join us at Feeling the Love this February 13, 2016.

In the Westin's Heart Beats Ballroom, there will be dancing to the The Mellotones, Atlantic Canada’s favourite funk and soul band. This nine-piece ensemble brings tight harmonies, powerful horns and a funky rhythm section all backed by solid grooves of R&B favourites, classic Motown and funk.
